I want you to forget I’ve got a camera.
By the end of the day, I’ll probably know who’s who, who’s trouble and which table I need to keep an eye on.
I’ll chat with your guests, have a laugh, get to know people and become a familiar face. Once people relax around me, they stop thinking about the camera. And that’s when I get the photographs I really want.
The proper laughs. The looks across the room. Your mates being idiots. Your family being themselves. The little things happening while you’re busy enjoying your wedding.
Of course we’ll get the family photos and I’ll give you a bit of direction when you need it. But for most of the day, I want you getting on with your wedding while I photograph it.

The moments you didn’t even know happened.
While you’re busy getting married, there’s a whole wedding happening around you.
Your dad having a quiet moment. Your mates taking the piss out of each other. Someone getting emotional when they think nobody’s watching. The things you simply can’t plan.
That’s the stuff I’m looking for.
My approach to wedding photography is documentary at heart. I’ll capture things as they happen, without constantly stopping the day or setting everything up for the camera.

I know weddings.
And I know people.
I’ve been around weddings long enough to know that the timeline is more of a suggestion than a legally binding document.
Things run late. The weather changes. Someone disappears to the bar just as they’re needed. That’s weddings.
I’ll work alongside your venue and the other suppliers and adapt to whatever the day throws at us. I’m not going to start whinging because things are running twenty minutes late. I’m there to capture your wedding as we agreed, not watch the clock.
And if you’ve got entertainment on during the meal, I’ll be there photographing that too. I’m not disappearing for my “break” just as everyone starts dancing on the chairs.
And no, I don’t expect you to feed me either. I’m a big boy.
